CSR

After completion and finishing with colorful paintings and ornaments including tires

Construction and donation of toilet facilities to a local elementary school

Thai MAEDA constructed and donated toilet facilities to Mab Yang Porn School located in A.Pluakdang, Rayong in collaboration with YOKOHAMA TIRE MANUFACTURING (Thailand) and Thai Semcon. The school serves 1,168 pupils together with 53 teachers, which until recently had insufficient facilities. After completion and finishing with colorful paintings and ornaments including tires, the facility was handed over to the school on 20th September 2016. We were privileged to be thanked for our work in a special ceremony which included a letter of appreciation from the schools administration for our donation. We strive to continue undertaking initiatives that are trusted by stakeholders through social contributions that take many different forms.

Willingly engaged in providing forest firebreaks with school children of Thailand

Making a firebreak to restrain brush fires

THAI MAEDA, together with its parent company, MAEDA CORPORATION, recently participated in an activity known as the “Children’s Forest Programme”, which was promoted by OISCA (The Organization for Industrial, Spiritual and Cultural Advancement). Because Thai Maeda considers it important to participate in the activities that it supports and not merely to contribute or to fund them, a total of 18 staff members both Japanese and Thai took part in forestry educational activities at Chiang rai prefecture in the north of Thailand during 2014.
The fact that areas of forest are diminishing due to environmentally damaging development together with the spread of fire caused by slash-and-burn agriculture is a matter that we are all concerned about and an ever increasing issue in society today. The programme therefore is designed to give children an environmental education through many activities, including forestation. The activity this time concentrated upon the provision and construction of firebreaks to contain the spread of fire. Many children and local residents from neighboring villages participated and experienced the work.
This activity directly addresses one of social problems that are caused by deforestation. Thai Maeda is therefore determined to continue with offering and contributing its expertise to various programmes along with its stakeholders such as incorporated non-profit organizations and local residents.
